The Weingart Center for Career and Professional Development will be holding its first CareerCon — a new addition to their Backpack to Briefcase and Straight Out of College series next week, April 8 — April 11. This series will focus on students transitioning into the workforce, and almost all of the events will have hiring employers present. Attending CareerCon will allow students to not only learn important skills needed after college, but also to network in a more intimate setting with recruiting professionals.
In preparation for CareerCon, the Career Center gave out free ice cream in front of the Campus Inn (CI) this past Tuesday, April 2 to students who wanted to know more about the new series. This event, which was co-sponsored by KPOET Radio, lasted from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and gave students an opportunity to register for various CareerCon events through Handshake and ask questions.
Here is a run-down of next week’s career-enriched events —the what, the when, the where, and the why! Also, make sure you bring your resume to all these events!
