I. ASWC Senate Changes
A. Treasurer Heymans has stepped down from her position. Secretary Parviainen has been voted in to fill the position of Treasurer.
II. Constituent Reports
A. Over the break, 300+ pavements and areas of campus have been fixed by Facilities in accordance with the ADA.
B. Operational hours for the Graham Athletics Center are now on the Whittier website.
C. Diversity Council will be hosting a Spoken Word event, which will be announced at a later time.
D. The artist for Whittfest will be announced Thursday, Feb. 2nd in the Campus Center Courtyard.
E. The Student Justice Coalition will host a Social Justice week from April 17 to the 20th, at which point they will present the Student Bill of Rights.
F. VPS will be kicking off their Spanish Film Festival March 1st.
III. Committee Reports
A. Applications to fill the vacant Secretary seat will soon be publicized on ASWC Senate social media. Those who have previous experience on the table are encouraged to apply.
B. Culinary Committee met with Bon Appétit General Manager James Dial to discuss more vegan options in the Campus Inn.
C. The Spring Town Hall will be held Mar. 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Keep an eye out for further information.
IV. First Readings
A. The Sachsen Society requested $14,538 for Psychedelic Circus.
B. The Psi Chi Honors Society requested $1,100 for a Whittier Undergraduate Research Conference.
C. The Metaphonian Society requested $6,555 for Met Decent Block Party.
V. Miscellaneous Business
A. The Closed Meetings & Advisors By Law Amendment was read for the first time. The amendment currently changes the language of the By Laws to include ASWC Senate Advisors implicitly a part of closed meetings, unless requested otherwise. The amendment also allows closed meeting for reasons other than personnel issues.
B. The Voting & The Chair By Law Amendment was also read for the first time. The amendment removes the power of the chair of a meeting to choose which method of voting they prefer.
